Mother's Day

Mother's Day was so great this year! I had the privilege of having both mine and Gary's moms here with us. The four of us were spoiled (2 moms, me and Stacie)! Gary made us some cedar plank Salmon and chicken, and a chocolate cheesecake! We had a crowd for dinner, which made it even more fun!

Gary got a picture taken of Ty and Rach as a surprise for us. It was! There were some really cute gifts and cards given, and treats! We all appreciated the thought and effort. It was truly a great and memorable day.

Jake's Cancelled Flight

Becca came to ride up with me to pick up Jake from the airport when he came back from Ukraine after being gone from his cute fiance for a whole month. Just before she got here, I got an e-mail from Jake saying that his flight was cancelled and he was stuck in Paris for a day.

She was very sad, but instead of moping around and being depressed, she got her kites out and flew kites with Ty and Rach.

After that, they crossed over the wetlands by scaling the fence. It's not surprising that Ty and Rach love it when she comes over. Thanks, Becca! They had a great time!

Happenings...

Ty received his Tenderfoot! We need to celebrate this moment because we all know how much he "loves" scouts.

Kenadi spent the weekend with us and we had a great time. Chan and Rhyder spent a lot of time playing with them as well. It's really fun for us to watch all of them interact with each other.

Concertos

Ty and Rach worked really hard to learn concertos to play in a festival for a judge. The both did a great job and both earned a score of 98%. The only recording I was able to get was at their lesson with my iPhone. The sound is good, but the video is lacking.

Ty played Petite Piano Concerto - iii movement by Silvanski

Rach played Celebration Concerto - iii movement by Olson

Their teacher is Ashley Christensen Gleason of American Fork. She's a great teacher and very patient. I've learned a lot from her myself.

Monterey Trip

April 22-26, 2010
My visit to Monterey was so much fun! Lisa and Isa picked me up (sunglasses) and we went to see Shaun. He was on the base doing his PT. I was surprised to see a mustache on his upper lip! Luckily, Lisa got him to shave it off before their date.

I couldn't believe how much Isa had grown since I saw her at Christmas! She is so smart with all of her words and sign language! I couldn't get enough of that little girl!

I got to meet my newest granddaughter, Elsie! She was just precious. I got to give her a bath a couple of times and oh, how I love that new baby smell!

Isa is already a great big sister and so helpful to Mommy! They're going to be great friends.

They make a very cute family. I went to church with them and saw how much their ward likes having them there. (They brought a total of 12 meals after the baby was born!) I'd only get 3...what's up with that?

We went to the Monterey Acquarium with their friends. Isa and her friend held hands most of the time and had a great time together! I thought it was adorable!

Shaun took me down to the wharf to get some fish from Bubba Gumps. We also got clam chowder another day. We met Dan and Nicki for lunch at Moss Landing and had a great time seeing them!

Salt Lake City Marathon

This was marathon #18 for Ellen and I. We didn't train well at all and it took FOREVER! We had lots of support and it's hard to express how much it means to us to have it. Thanks to all who supported us!

Off Track in St. George

Grandma and Grandpa stopped in St. George on their way to and from a funeral. The kids were able to visit the petroglyphs near there. It is an easy walk, and well worth the visit. It's amazing that they've lasted this long!

Bikes and hikes, tennis, playing on the big toy. Lots to be done, but it sure wore out Stacie and her kids.
Chan is getting really good on his bike! We went on a longer bike ride and had an interesting time. We will definately have memories of this activity!

Swimming is the favorite activity - especially since the water is comfortably warm. It's nice to be able to walk to the pool!

After seeing the signs many times, we decided to go to the Dinosaur Tracks at Johnson's farm. It was amazing to see what this guy uncovered when he was moving rock so he could build his house. One of the slabs turned over and there were the tracks. He donated the farm so we all can enjoy!
