Jake and Becca's Wedding

The wedding dinner was held at a park in Pleasant Grove. It was perfect for all the kids who were there. Heather and I worked together planning and making it happen. She got the brunt of the creativity and organization, and was so easy to work with. In the end, it was a great dinner and fun activity.

The sealing was very nice, given by David Jack's grandpa. He was a little forgetful (like me), cute and funny. It was a full house. For pictures, the wind kicked up and had Becca's veil standing straight up at times, and kept our hair in our faces, but it was fun anyway.

Traditions

The cake-cutting got a little rambunctious. Of course there was cake being smashed in faces to the point that Becca almost went down. Jake caught her in the nick of time, and in the end, they kissed and made up. (Ewww!)

Before the throwing of the bouquet, Jake held up the train of Becca's dress and the girls held hands in a sort of dance and ran under it. Then they lined up to catch the bouquet. (This is a fun Mexican tradition).

Jake had to retrieve the garter from Becca's leg, which was embarrassing for both of them, but fun for the spectators!

My favorite part of the night was the dancing. Jake made me dance with him, which turned out to be a lot of fun - once he taught me what to do. He even had the courage to dip me.

Another Mexican tradition was called The Dollar Dance. You could pin money on the bride or groom and earn the privilege of dancing with them for a minute. It was a lot of fun.

Jake and Becca were so cute dancing together. Jake is so much taller than her and she was dancing with her bare feet under her dress. It was a cute sight.
The food was amazing and the decorations looked great. Their colors were green and orange. Becca's family worked very hard to make it a special night to remember and it was a great success!

There were many there to support Jake and Becca. Thanks to all who came or who couldn't come but kept them in their thoughts on their big day.

We've gained a wonderful daughter, and Jake has acquired a great new family.

Congratulations, Jake and Becca!!!! You're such a cute couple.

Family Barbeque

We took advantage of an opportunity to have a family barbecue while Gary's parents were here. It was a lot of fun to get together and laugh and talk. The kids especially had a good time playing together. Great memories. I LOVE the picture of the kids piled up on the slide. They had SO much fun!

Ogden Marathon 2010

We had a lot of fun this year at the marathon. It was a nice break from all the wedding stress. We went to the expo and looked around and had a lot of samples, then got together for dinner the night before.

The morning of it seems like the bus is NEVER going to stop and you can't believe you have to run that far back down, but we made the best of it. Waiting for it to start was cold, but fun.

Those who came to support us had to wait a long time from the half-marathon finish to the full marathon finish. They were troopers to sit in the sun and wait, but you'll never know how much it means to run in and see your family smiling and waving at you! It was really fun to have Rach, Ty and Kenadi run me across the finish line!

(Can I say that Becca beat Jake?)

Desiree kicked it for her first marathon and got a great time! Tami improved her PR by over a half hour.

There is no way to explain the elation you feel when you're all done! We had a great experience and created a lot of memories! Rach wore her pink shirt and "diamond" earrings so we could match at the end:)

LaCinda's Wedding

LaCinda and Spencer got married on Saturday. I thought her colors of "fuchsia and tangelo" were very pretty, but what happened to just saying "pink and orange"?

Ok, I'll admit it. Katelyn looked so stinking cute that I had to get a big picture of her up here.

I had to take advantage of everyone being all dressed up. Everyone looked great!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was so great this year! I had the privilege of having both mine and Gary's moms here with us. The four of us were spoiled (2 moms, me and Stacie)! Gary made us some cedar plank Salmon and chicken, and a chocolate cheesecake! We had a crowd for dinner, which made it even more fun!

Gary got a picture taken of Ty and Rach as a surprise for us. It was! There were some really cute gifts and cards given, and treats! We all appreciated the thought and effort. It was truly a great and memorable day.

Jake's Cancelled Flight

Becca came to ride up with me to pick up Jake from the airport when he came back from Ukraine after being gone from his cute fiance for a whole month. Just before she got here, I got an e-mail from Jake saying that his flight was cancelled and he was stuck in Paris for a day.

She was very sad, but instead of moping around and being depressed, she got her kites out and flew kites with Ty and Rach.

After that, they crossed over the wetlands by scaling the fence. It's not surprising that Ty and Rach love it when she comes over. Thanks, Becca! They had a great time!

Happenings...

Ty received his Tenderfoot! We need to celebrate this moment because we all know how much he "loves" scouts.

Kenadi spent the weekend with us and we had a great time. Chan and Rhyder spent a lot of time playing with them as well. It's really fun for us to watch all of them interact with each other.

Concertos

Ty and Rach worked really hard to learn concertos to play in a festival for a judge. The both did a great job and both earned a score of 98%. The only recording I was able to get was at their lesson with my iPhone. The sound is good, but the video is lacking.

Ty played Petite Piano Concerto - iii movement by Silvanski

Rach played Celebration Concerto - iii movement by Olson

Their teacher is Ashley Christensen Gleason of American Fork. She's a great teacher and very patient. I've learned a lot from her myself.
